The stages of this year’s Tour of Britain seem to have settled on a bit of a format. The break goes away – same as it does in any race – and then the day ends with a handful of riders effectively being given a bit of a head start on the day’s final climb.
On stage five, Austrian rider Matthias Brandle had enough left in the tank to climb the hill not much slower than the peloton and therefore won himself a bike race.
Nowt changed with the general classification.
Stage six
Much the same again. A bit of moderately rugged terrain with a small climb very near the end of the stage.
