ITV4 will not be showing the 2013 Giro d’Italia

This article is about the 2013 Giro. For information about TV coverage of this year’s race, click here.

Bad news, I’m afraid. As it stands, ITV4 will not be covering this year’s Giro d’Italia, which means you’ll have to follow Bradley Wiggins’ efforts elsewhere.

Live TV coverage

Although this is bad news for viewers, it’s good news for Eurosport who do a great job of covering professional road racing. If you don’t have access via your TV service, you could go for the Eurosport Player. It’s £2.99 a month if you sign up for a year, but there also appears to be a £4.99 a month option with no minimum term. This allows you to sign up just for May and you can then follow the entire race on your laptop (or on a telly plugged into your laptop).

Don’t quote me on this though, because I haven’t looked into it properly as I already get the channel through my TV package. That said, maybe I should investigate further because I always miss the highlights and the on-demand service would therefore come in handy. Quite why I don’t get an on-demand service anyway is beyond me. If only apathy didn’t prevent me from writing a strongly-worded email to someone somewhere at some point.

Highlights

Again, Eurosport’s the place to be, but Sky Sports are also providing hour-long Giro highlights, typically at 7pm.

Here

I’ll be covering the Giro, so why not follow it here? If you haven’t done so already, here’s why you should sign up for email updates and if you do already subscribe, please forward today’s email to someone who might be interested by way of recommendation. This act of kindness would be greatly appreciated and I’ll reward you by just sort of carrying on much as I would have done even if you hadn’t bothered.
